The Town of New Windsor currently has a Council Vacancy.  The Town is actively seeking candidates to fill this vacancy for the remainder of a term which will be May 2029.

Interest candidates should submit a letter of interest and complete a candidacy registration form obtainable on the Town of New Windsor website (www.newwindsormd.gov) or from the Town Office.

Town Charter – Article 3 – §C3-2 – Qualifications  

Councilmembers shall have resided in the Town for at least two years immediately preceding their election and shall be qualified voters of the Town. They shall maintain a permanent residence in the Town during their term of office.

“Qualified Voter” means that you are a citizen of the United States, are eighteen (18) years of age on or before election day, have resided in the State of Maryland for at least one (1) year next preceding any Town election, have resided within the corporate limits of the Town for six (6) months next preceding any Town election.

“Primary Residence” means the residence maintained at the location in which the individual is domiciled.  “Domicile”, the place where an individual has his or her true, fixed, and permanent home residence.

Deadline to submit your letter of interest and candidacy registration form to Clerk/Treasurer Dana Mangus (dmangus@newwindosrmd.org) by the close of business on June 9^th 2025, at 3:00 P.M.  All interested candidates will be expected to attend the Town Work Session meeting on June 16^th, 2025 to address the Mayor and Town Council.  The Town Council will elect an individual to fill the vacancy at this meeting.
